About the Role

We are looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to own the financial health and operational backbone of our company. This is a senior cross-functional role where you will manage accounting, financial reporting, vendor relationships, and internal operations ensuring the business runs efficiently as we scale. Chinese language skills are preferred as you will work closely with Chinese-speaking partners, vendors, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage all financial operations: bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts

• Build and maintain financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making

• Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, and financial compliance

• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and external service providers

• Handle vendor contracts, procurement, and office/operational cost management

• Ensure compliance with local and international tax obligations, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements

• Develop and improve internal operational processes, SOPs, and tooling

• Support HR operations including contractor agreements, onboarding logistics, and team expense management

• Liaise with Chinese-speaking partners, vendors, and stakeholders as required

• Report directly to the CEO/COO and support strategic planning and fundraising activities

Required Qualifications

Finance

• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial management

• Strong command of financial reporting, P&L management, and budgeting

• Proficiency with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)

• Experience managing statutory compliance, audits, and tax filings

• Solid understanding of multi-currency transactions and international finance

Operations

• Proven experience managing internal operations in a startup or SME environment

• Ability to design and improve operational workflows and SOPs

• Strong vendor and contract management experience

• Comfortable with project management and productivity tools (Notion, Asana, Google Workspace)

Language & Communication

• Chinese language proficiency (Mandarin preferred) spoken and written (preferred, not mandatory)

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• Ability to work with international teams across multiple time zones

Nice to Have

• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

• Experience in a high-growth SaaS or tech startup

• Familiarity with Singapore, Hong Kong, or Southeast Asian regulatory environments

• Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, or due diligence processes

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
